HYLAN is a full-service, design-build contractor specializing in broadband, communications, and intelligent transport systems (ITS), distributed antenna systems (DAS), fiber optic network platforms, and wireless solutions. Position Overview:

The Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing the organization's safety programs and initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves regulatory compliance, risk assessment, incident investigation, and employee training. The Safety Manager will collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Implement comprehensive safety programs and policies that comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure all safety practices adhere to OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory requirements. Stay updated on new regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses. Determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels. Ensure staff are educated in safety procedures, emergency protocols, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain emergency response plans. Coordinate drills and ensure all employees are prepared for emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training sessions, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics. Identify trends and areas for improvement. Implement safety improvements and innovations.
  • Work closely with management, HR, and other departments to integrate safety into all operational processes. Provide guidance and support on safety-related matters.
  • Foster a positive safety culture by encouraging employee involvement in safety initiatives and recognizing safe behaviors.

Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of Health & Safety related experience in Construction, including experience participating and/or leading safety committees, working on H&S initiatives, participating on emergency response/behavior-based safety teams, participating in OSHA inspections
  • OSHA & DOT associated certifications.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to disseminate information related to applicable laws and regulations to team members.
