Safety Rotational Associate 2024

Opportunity summary: As a Safety Associate, you are responsible for working with teams and providing safety support for various departments of the organization. The 18-month program consists of two 9-month rotations designed to explore different safety functions and systems while learning aspects of the paper and packaging industry.

How you will impact WestRock:
  • Complete an unprecedented skill-building opportunity which prepares its participants for a career in safety and health at WestRock
  • Receive hands-on training and practical application of safety and health practices at WestRock, along with exposure to business and manufacturing processes
  • Complete two field assignments where individual will continue to engage with the Safety and Health team on scheduled off-site Safety Audits, Surveys, Process Safety applications, training programs, seasonal outages, meetings, and other opportunities in different businesses and geographical areas
  • May be offered an opportunity to gain exposure to subject matter experts as well as key leaders in our manufacturing facilities located across the country.
  • Rotations are selected based on business need and can be anywhere within the United States
  • Upon successful completion of the Program, participants may move into a full-time position and continue their career as a safety and health professional


What you need to succeed:

Education:
  • Required: Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental or Engineering OR pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental or Engineering
  • Required: Previous intern, co-op or work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Ability to relocate per program requirements
