Geopros is looking for a Safety Trainer (MSHA) for a full-time position in the Kingman, AZ area.

Job Overview:

The Safety Trainer will be responsible for conducting and managing all aspects of site MSHA and other necessary safety training and compliance . This will include arranging and conducting safety training, managing all documentation associated with safety training, and attending safety meetings, among other duties.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the MSHA New Miner and Annual Refresher Training (ART) Plan
  • Actively facilitate site training (New Miner, 1st Aid CPR, ART, Mine Rescue Etc.)
  • Manage Documents associate with training
  • Collaborate with S&H and other division safety committee leaders to align safety topics with all divisions within Origin Mining Company.
  • Attend safety divisions safety meetings.
  • Manage all active S&H Training PO's
  • Frequent interaction with multiple work groups inside and outside of the division, working with miners, technicians, technical/support staff, supervision, and management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for competency.
  • Assist in the implementation of a Competency Based Training system that ensures information is delivered in a manner that employees will retain.
  • On-call duties as required
  • Other duties as required.


Qualifications / Requirements:
  • MSHA Instructor Certification (blue card) Required
  • Red Cross/American Heart First aid and CPR instructor (preferred)
  • Five (5) years of experience in mining or heavy equipment industry required.
  • Mine Rescue Trainer/Member (preferred)
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Proven experience in working with peer groups and focus teams required
  • Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Excellent leadership skills and knowledge of influencing others required
  • Ability to promote safety in training and lead by example required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Physical Demands:

To be considered eligible for this position, an individual must meet the following requirements to perform the essential job functions:
  • Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking on uneven surfaces, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather.
  • Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating information.
  • Able to hear sufficiently to distinguish various pitches of warning alarms.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically.


Salary: $65,000 to $80,000 depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
