What You'll Do

Avalara is looking for a Sales Executive to join a group of dynamic sales professionals. You will increase net new sales growth. Operating as part of a motivated team, our Sales Executives sell Avalara sales tax compliance. Avalara helps make sales tax compliance simple and automatic for businesses of all sizes and our sales team is to help businesses achieve compliance by delivering comprehensive, automated, cloud-based solutions that are fast, accurate, and easy to use.

You will have responsibility for achieving individual sales targets by increasing sales of our products and services into our partner ecosystem and attach a holistic solution with sales of Consumer Use and Sales Tax, Exemption Certificate Management, License Management, and Research solutions. You will report to the Senior Manager, Sales.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify sales opportunities through lead follow up, partner relationships and direct prospecting.
  • Manage sales process through qualification, need analysis, product demonstration, negotiation and close.
  • Develop relationships with Avalara partners and other third parties to increase opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge about Avalara's solutions and offerings.
  • Maintain an understanding of the marketplace, competitive offerings and other business issues relevant to the position.
  • Experience balancing multiple sales opportunities to maximize results.
  • Document daily sales activities in Salesforce, prepare accurate reports and forecasts, manage pipeline and perform other tasks necessary to increase sales revenue and communicate activities to sales management.
  • Be an active team player both on the sales team and throughout Avalara to help meet our goals.
  • Provide feedback from field experience to internal cross-functional teams with regards to product, selling, etc. matters.

What You'll Need to be Successful

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 5+years of successful B2B sales experience with an emphasis on acquiring new customers
  • Experience in handing high velocity and complex selling situations.
  • Documented success achieving and exceeding assigned quotas.
  • Consultative, solution-based sales methodology.
  • Sales experience with financial/accounting applications or hosted software solutions or the banking/financial services Industry is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge in the ERP, E-Commerce, Billing/POS solutions.
