Base salary 140k + Commissions

Develops and implements the strategic direction for designated Business Unit; manages associates and activities in support thereof to achieve sustainable top and bottom line growth.

Duties:
  • Champions development and continual enhancement of value proposition for specified area of business responsibility; identifies target markets, applications and unmet needs; directs sales and business focus yielding sustainable growth in sales and earnings
  • Develops, maintains and communicates the Business Plan outlining business status, strategies, goals and tactical plans
  • Leads cross-functional Business Strategy Team in effective execution of business plan, ensuring satisfaction of business/customer needs, specifying programs/projects for investment, auditing progress vs goals and facilitating resolution of any issues
  • Ensures updating and maintenance of accurate sales projections and product demand forecasts; works with Customer Service and Operations to effectively establish lead times and inventory levels taking into account sourcing and production cycle times to adequately satisfy market and customer requirements
  • Directly responsible for all pricing for designated area of business responsibility assuring optimum value realization; work with direct reports and Customer Service to effectively implement pricing and maintain quoting records; periodically reviews pricing and updates where appropriate
  • Works with Finance to ensure effective receivables management
  • Effectively manages designated sales associates assuring all direct reports are fully oriented and trained, that they have up-to-date position descriptions, establishment and auditing of performance expectations, annual reviews, individual development plans, and training
  • Manages with safety, associate well-being, product stewardship and environmental practices as a priority
  • Mentors direct reports and other associates throughout the organization on Guiding Principles and other key organizational values; leads and influences the achievement of high professional standards and conduct within the organization
  • Negotiates and implements Confidentiality, Development and Supply Agreements where appropriate
  • Maintains sales responsibility for strategic accounts and projects; visits key customers to identify and network with key buying influences on multiple levels and to assist in building relationships
  • Develops and continually improves sales systems, practices and tools to assure functional excellence and output; effectively works with other functions as needed to achieve this
  • Responsible for marketing/communications program to support business objectives and consistent with Corporate branding objectives
  • Raises AR organizational internal standards by initiating innovative selling and marketing techniques; presents best practices to the rest of the organization and fosters collaboration; beneficially shares with teams and sales representatives from other AR businesses
Job Specifications:
  • College degree required in a marketing, business, scientific or engineering discipline; some technical and/or mechanical aptitude preferred
  • 7-10+ years of sales and/or business management experience preferred
  • Relevant background (e.g. formulated adhesives, coatings, applications in designated business area, etc.) desired
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; excellent listening, oral and written communication abilities; writing skills that demonstrate clear, articulated details in correspondence and reports; engaging presenter
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire new customers and grow businesses; proven track record in exceeding sales and profitability goals; seeks to have a positive impact on the business with a strong drive for results
  • Well-organized with strong attention to detail; ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize and produce results in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to develop and implement key strategic initiatives with sustainable, long term beneficial business impact
  • Expert in value-selling; working knowledge of business financials and accounting
  • Experienced negotiator and familiar with contracts and agreement elements
  • Proficient in state-of the-art selling techniques and tools
  • Computer software proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, etc. - adept and learning new hardware, software and systems
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time including domestic and international locations
