What you'll be doing:
- Work directly with Sales Team and Leaders to identify opportunities and drive brokerage revenue for Oversize Overweight (OSOW) services
- Interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training entry-level account reps
- Provide support on sales calls when needed, pertaining to OSOW moves and shipments
- Holding the team accountable for daily activity and revenue results
- Assist in establishing and developing carrier and vendor relationships to grow our heavy haul services
- Responsible for communicating updates, progress, and issues to executive leadership
- Travel as needed for customer/carrier meetings and industry conventions
- Assist Account Representatives with strategies to ensure sales targets are met and that a high level of customer service is delivered to the sales floor and customers/carriers
- Monitor sales reports, take appropriate action, and communicate trends and market conditions to the Director and Vice President
- Resolve escalated accounting/claims issues when needed
What you need:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 5+ years' sales management experience; preferably leading a team of 10+
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills
- Transportation or business services industry experience is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to coach, lead, and motivate others
- Ability to be on call, receiving calls from carriers, clients, prospects, and sales associates 24/7/365
- Capable of providing strong professional references - customer, superior, peer, and direct-report
