JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Service Operations, this role is responsible for being the highest level of audit ability & authority while also supporting the Inspection Technicians that are responsible for inspecting new buses when they are delivered to the Sales Operation Center making repairs or adjustments to ensure the salable condition of the buses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform master level audit of all buses that are scheduled to arrive to the Sales Operation Center for processing.
  • Supervises, mentors & supports a team of Inspection Technicians.
  • Ensures Inspection Technician work load is supplemented during scheduled time off and/or absenteeism.
  • Cultivate a culture amongst the team that thrives off customer approval(s) of a job well done.
  • Organizes and prioritizes workload coming in to the Sales Operation Center.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction with new product delivery by addressing and resolving customer issues promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of Sales Operation Center activities, including work performed, parts used, and customer feedback.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all Sales Operation Center owned tools and manuals.
  • Supports keeping the Sales Operation Center's shop area meeting all local and national compliance & safety standards.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong technical background with expertise in school bus and/or medium duty vehicle applications.
  • Product familiarization for all sub-systems on school bus and/or medium duty vehicle products.
  • Supervision experience in the automotive, truck and/or bus industry.
  • Excellent communication and customer relation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of working independently, following-through and solving problems quickly.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when required, including weekends and evenings.
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE:
  • 2+ years of Leadership / Direct Report Management experience in automotive, truck and/or bus service industry.
  • 3+ years of PDI technician experience in the automotive, truck and/or bus industry inspecting & repairing body, chassis, electrical & powertrain components.
  • ASE Master School Bus Technician certification (Preferred).
  • Class B CDL w/School bus & Air Brake Endorsement, or the ability to obtain first year of employment.
  • 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Office suite.
