Responsibilities

  • Responsible for securing from the business community new and renewing underwriting and sponsorships from an ever-expanding list of Opportunities including television, radio, podcasts, streaming, websites, e-newsletters, and events.
  • Works closely with Development Director in building short and long term fulfillment goals for WFSU. Helps set policies and goals that can determine future funding resources for WFSU.
  • Responsible for developing and coordinating marketing programs, activities, and services. Develops, coordinates, and secures funding for promotional events in conjunction with WFSU Membership Department. May promote membership and sponsorship opportunities.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

  • Demonstrates a collaborative, customer service oriented and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to develop and implement a successful marketing plan/strategy.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Ability to cultivate new relationships with businesses in the local community by networking, cold calling, and referrals.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to utilize problem solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Passion for and experience with public broadcasting is a plus.

WFSU Public Media provides quality media services to the communities of Tallahassee, Panama City, and Thomasville, GA. As a licensee of Florida State University and the NPR and PBS affiliate for 25 counties in North Florida, we are committed to serving our audiences with the highest standards of excellence.
