Responsibilities

Statement of Purpose

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the sanitation shift.

Accountabilities
  • Manages plant personnel.
  • Responsible for following and upholding all safety policies and procedures established for the facility.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Prioritizes food quality and maintains food safety, through the vigilant application of company SSOPs, GMPs and the master sanitation schedule.
  • Understands chemical usage, chemical titration, and chemical safety.p
  • Understands goals, yields, variances and calculations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications

    Knowledge

    • Understands basic bacteriology
    • Knowledge of food compliance regulations in conjunction with USDA regulations
    • Knowledge of chemical safety
    • Understands ordering of supplies based on future needs
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, or governmental regulations.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
    • Ability to calculate yields, productivity and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
    • Basic computer skills, Word and Excel

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor's degree; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
