Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). As a Satellite Production Scheduler, you will lead schedule creation and management, change implementation and operations execution for critical satellite development and production campaigns pertaining to the satellite integration value stream. You will be a key team member connecting high level program schedules to tactical work order management on the production floor each day.

The ideal candidate is familiar working in a fast paced, highly ambiguous environment, has hands-on manufacturing experience, and can communicate effectively with engineering, business and leadership.

Key job responsibilities

- Coordinate and review input from engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and business development to support and maintain schedules for satellite assemblies using SmartSheet, Microsoft Project, and/or other industry software solutions.

- Collaborate with multiple teams across Kuiper to synchronize dynamic engineering and manufacturing requirements, delivery dates and satellite schedules for both production and R&D satellite campaigns.

- Build tools and business processes to manage satellite schedule and reporting to both the shop floor and leadership team.

- Plan, execute and close anywhere from 1-200 work orders in SAP a day on the production floor, load-balancing resources and personnel to achieve Kuiper program priorities for satellite integration and test.

- Determine and organize rapid phase-in and phase-out dates of designs, processes, tests and equipment.

- Lead efforts to uncover root-cause and develop permanent resolution on issues found during product builds as required using build business metrics and queries.

- Collaborate with the Production planning team and Quality team to streamline part distribution from upstream sources, ensuring timely delivery of hardware to the production floor in coordination with manufacturing engineers.

- Communicate planned delivery dates and blockers to downstream customers including the Kuiper launch and mission management team.

- Meet daily with the production operations team at standup to tactically determine priorities and work order needs for the day to meet overall business needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 3+ years of manufacturing scheduling experience or equivalent.

- 3+ years managing complex assembly schedules on the shop floor.

- 1+ years with SmartSheet, Microsoft Project, SAP, JIRA, Sharepoint or similar scheduling tool experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in a related engineering discipline.

- Enterprise system experience including functional knowledge of SAP ERP, MRP and MES.

- Hands-on design, assembly and/or fabrication experience.

- 1+ years of experience working in a startup environment.

- Experience transitioning complex products from R&D to high-volume manufacturing in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

- Experience writing technical documents and presentations.

- Strong organizational, analytical, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
