Career Opportunity:

WestRock's Cottonton Sawmill is hiring Utility Helpers. The responsibility of the Utility position is to provide assistance to operators and perform general labor around the mill. The utility worker provides assistance with wood marking and banding as well as running re-runs between edger, stacker, and tipple operator. Work environments will be indoors and outdoors with exposure to temperature extremes and elements.

Pay Rate: $16.16/hour

Schedule: 10:00 PM - 7:15 AM

How you will Impact WestRock:

• Checking underneath the planner, trimmer, optimizer, and pack saw and cleaning when needed.
• Working around the hula saw and monitor the screen for the hog and truck bin.
• Conduct periodic maintenance.
• Conducting general clean up duties around the operator station and around the mill.
• Perform task associated with job being done to meet production goals.
• Responsible to report any issues to lead or Supervisor.

What you need to succeed:

• Possess a High School diploma or a GED
• Ability to follow and adhere to company's policy
• Be quota driven and have the ability to communicate effectively with both outside and general area
• Comfortable working with hand and power tools
• Ability to learn and Operate a Bobcat, Pickax, and other equipment
• Comfortable with using hand tools such as brooms, rakes etc.
• Possess at least 1 year of work experience
