Job Summary:

Responsible for scanning completed paper documents into a digital copy, identifying discrepancies in Medical Record Number, patient labels, completeness of chart prior to scanning it and sending for storage.

• Maintains the neatness of the general admitting area and the family waiting room during the facility working hours.

• Scans completed post-operative patient records.

• Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of scanned documents.

• Enters all scanned information into the system for processing.

• Ensures that all scanned documents are indexed correctly.

• Requests additional information as required by policy.

• Assists the front office in greeting duties, as needed.

• Professionally answers telephone and transfers calls in a timely manner

• Files and transfers charts to appropriate hold locations.

• Assists with other business office function, as needed and is crossed trained to effectively perform other job descriptions

• Reports regularly to the Business Office Manager about the status of current projects or workflow
  • • Participates in development of organization procedures and update of forms and manuals.

• Demonstrates flexibility and a willingness to help in all other areas.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Maintains strictest confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations

Required Experience:

Qualifications:

High School graduate.

One year of related experience or medical business office experience.
