SCHOOL COUNSELOR/BEHAVIOR SUPPORT
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Under the immediate direction of the Director of Pupil Services, this individual will:
• Provide on and off site behavioral counseling services districtwide to pupils and parents, which assist pupils in maintaining appropriate classroom behaviors.
• Consult with teachers to assist in development of classroom management strategies to support students with challenging behaviors.
• Assist the staff in the reinforcement of appropriate student behavior.
• Participate in development of districtwide Positive Behavior Intervention Support Program.
• Make preliminary evaluations of behavior of pupils referred to him/her by the teachers, the principal and others.
• Provide training and advisement to staff on behavior management and preventative behavior strategies
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must posses a valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential: School Counseling, or related credential such as School Psychologist
• BICM certificate preferred
• Must have experience managing difficult student behavior
