Summary
Under the direction of the STS Coordinators, the School Technology Specialist (STS) will be responsible for the following general functions:
Description
8 hours per day/202 days per year
GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist teachers with the integration of technology in the classroom
Support teachers implementing use of Canvas
Provide staff with ongoing professional development on district programs and on the use of current technology including, but not limited to: Encore, school registration, E-mail, Microsoft Office, Office 365, Adobe, web development, document cameras, projectors, interactive devices, wireless display, mobile devices such as iPad or similar tablets, and school specific software
Assist in school technology planning and evaluation
Offer support with questions concerning software for school use
Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
Maintain a current inventory of school/location equipment
Provide basic network support
Manage user accounts and security
Monitor network utilization
Manage mobile devices with an MDM
Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS (required):
Knowledge of the educational process and experience with integrating technology into instruction
Demonstrate a technical aptitude and proficient computer competency
Experience in instructing others in the use of hardware and software
Willingness to learn new technology techniques as they apply to education
Ability, desire, enthusiasm, and motivation to help others become more successful using technology
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Follow district guidelines and policies
QUALIFICATIONS (preferred):
Current State of Utah Level II Teaching Certificate, or previous experience as an STS in Davis School District
Working knowledge of district programs
Familiarity with multiple technologies and various platforms
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, crouch, and lift 50 lbs.*
Ability to travel to different locations
CONTRACT/SALARY:
Salary schedule within district guidelines
202 days per year/Degreed paid on STS Table
202 days per year/Non degreed paid on Table 9
Mileage reimbursement
