Piper Life Sciences is seeking a Scientist to support the Antibody Discovery team of a growing biotech company in Rockville, MD. This role supports groundbreaking neurological research for various life-threatening diseases.

Responsibilities for the Senior Scientist include:
• Utilize phage/yeast display or hybridoma technologies to discover antibody hit molecules used in neurology research.
• Engineer and optimize antibody lead molecules through sub-library, humanization, and affinity tuning techniques.
• Characterize antibodies using various in vitro biochemical and cellular assays.
• Utilize mammalian expression systems to express and purify biologics and generate the desired antibody expressions.
• Analyze, interpret, and report data results from the study. Identify areas for improvement and troubleshooting as needed.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams including CROs, translational medicine, and CMC.
• Supervise and mentor Research Associates and Scientists as needed.

Qualifications for the Senior Scientist include:
• 3+ years of experience with antibody discovery (particularly bacteria/yeast phage display), mammalian cell culture, and biochemical assays in an academic or industry setting.
• Master of Science in Biochemistry, Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Immunology, Neurology, or related field is highly desired. PhD is preferred.
• Experience with FACS, ELISA, Octet, etc. is highly preferred.

Compensation for the Senior Scientist includes:
• Salary Range: approximately $90,000 - $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience
