Qualifications:
Required Experience and skills:
• BA/BS/MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related discipline with 0-3 years of relevant experience within lab.
• Hands-on experience in molecular biology and recombinant DNA technologies.
• Fluent in microbial transformation and handling.
Preferred Experience and skills:
• Familiarity with molecular biology techniques, including PCR, restriction enzyme digestion, DNA purification, SDS-PAGE, western blot and microbial transformation (bacteria, yeast).
• Hands-on experience in molecular biology and recombinant DNA technologies.
• Knowledge of DNA analysis software (e.g., Geneious Prime)
• Lab automation experience

Discovery Biologics, Client Research Laboratories (MRL) in Boston, is seeking a contractor to support molecular biology core.
The successful candidate will employ molecular biology and microbiology techniques to support all aspects of high-throughput molecular cloning including, DNA preparation, host transformation, host growth, protein expression, sample labeling, aliquoting, record keeping in our database and electronic notebook and other related tasks. You will have the opportunity to apply your enthusiasm and technical skills as a member of Discovery Biologics - Boston to support and help drive multidisciplinary biotherapeutic discovery programs.
Responsibilities
• Perform day to day tasks to support operation of the molecular biology core.
• Prepare and sterilize bacterial and yeast growth media and maintain adequate media supply.
• Fulfill molecular cloning requests and deliver purified DNA as requested.
• Accurately handle sample preparation, aliquoting, labeling and registration.
• Maintain accurate experimental records and perform sample registration.
• Operate and maintain existing automation and liquid handling equipment to support high throughput cloning.
• Order necessary laboratory reagents and supplies.
