Responsibilities:

Summarizes and documents physician's examination findings accurately, updates to chief complaints, assessments, treatment recommendations, and decision justifications.
Assists patients exiting exam rooms to optimize patient flow and overall clinic efficiency.
Coordinates patient needs during examinations and communicates changes to daily schedules, particularly emergencies, to physicians promptly.
Performs various administrative tasks including answering phones, scanning documents, abstracting patient records, checking patients in and out, and managing work queues.
Maintains close proximity to physician during patient encounters to facilitate efficient workflow and minimize interruptions.
Guides patients to the front desk post-exam, ensuring follow-up appointments are scheduled as needed.
Monitors examination rooms for cleanliness and ensures adequate stock of supplies.

Qualifications:

Required:

Fluency in English
High School Diploma and 4 years' experience in a medical office, medical transcription or billing/coding required OR Associates degree or equivalent, and two years' experience in a medical office, medical transcription or billing/coding
Basic of knowledge ICD-10 coding

Preferred

Experience with Microsoft Office applications

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
