The Scrum Master will work within dedicated Agile squads to ensure that the squad has an environment, tools, practices, etc. that allow them to function effectively as a team to deliver value at the end of each sprint. The Scrum Master key missions will be to:
Help the squad to apply the Scrum framework
Plan deliverables and help teams to continuously improve
Resolve issues that hinder the teams work

Your activities and tasks will be to:
Animate and facilitate
o Facilitate and lead the whole Agile process for your dedicated squad
o Organize and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning meetings, sprint review meetings, and sprint retrospective meetings.
o Anticipate and remove any impediments that may be hindering the progress of the squad
o Work closely with Product and Solution Owners to ensure that the products backlog is efficiently maintained and prioritized

Coach and train
o Coach squads members in their adoption of Agile practices, while encouraging members to continuously improve and strive for excellence
o Ensure the right level of adoption of Agile principles and practices across dedicated squads (e.g., collective responsibility, autonomy, the right level of coordination of both Product and Solution Owners)
o Coach other stakeholders on Scrum framework and Agile mindset

Share information
o Contribute to the Scrum Master community to share knowledge and expertise

Required experience & competencies
At least 3 years of experience as an Agile Scrum Master, with significant and proven experience facilitating the delivery of complex projects
Strong cross-functional background (as opposed to being an expert in one area) and have seen a variety of different business situations and challenges during their career

Required Skills & Experience

Key duties and responsibilities

Act as Scrum Master for 1 to 2 low to medium complexity teams.
Display mastery of the Scrum Master role of Education by educating team members and stakeholders about the Scrum Roles, Artefacts and Ceremonies.
Teach Agile practices and values to the team. Help team members and stakeholders understand and see the value of Scrum.
Organize/facilitate meetings, discussions, and decision making.
Teach the team about Agile concepts such as continuous improvement and self-organization; support empowerment of the team.
Facilitate Team Ceremonies stand up; inception; sprint planning; backlog refinement; team demos.
Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example
Gather & analyze data & metrics on team performance to aid retrospectives & continuous improvement.
Educate the Product Owner on techniques for effective Product Backlog management; Help the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items.
Participate in all controls compliance and auditing needed by the team.
Adhere to all Information Security policies and best practices, including security awareness training and other information protection initiatives.

Required experience

1+ years experience serving in the Scrum Master role for a team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques.
Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
Strong mentoring, verbal and written communication skills.
Highly motivated, self-directed worker capable of developing detailed tasks from abstract assignments.
Regular attendance and an availability to work additional hours to meet challenging deadlines are minimum requirements of this role.

Required Education

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I)
