Seasonal Surgical Tech Main OR- Evenings

Positions range from permanent clinical float roles (Full time or Part Time) to Seasonal 13-week assignments with significantly higher base pay. Under general supervision of medical and nursing staff, following policies, procedures and professional guidelines, assists with surgical and endoscopy procedures, provides, assembles and cares for surgical supplies, instruments and equipment before, during and after procedures. Assists with cleaning, restocking and processing of the surgical suite, instruments and equipment as needed. Identifies and reports situations requiring intervention to the RN or Clinician. Serves as a clinical preceptor for new OR scrub tech and OR technician students and serves as a resource person in at least five surgical specialty areas. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

Graduate of Surgical Technologist training program or LPN program, CST Certification from AST or NCCT and 5 years of work experience, OR completion of a Hospital Based Surgical Tech Program, equivalent Military experience and greater than 5 years work experience. Ability to work in varied surgical settings and services such as general/GU, robotics, orthopedics, GYN, eye/ENT, neuro/neurospine. Must have Orthopedic and Neurosurgery experience or Orthopedic and Neurosurgery experience preferred.
