About this Role:

The Information Technology Manager I (ITM I) acts as an advocate for the Enterprise Data Management Strategy (EDMS) through recommendations or support of the data strategy and goals. The incumbent will have significant responsibilities for formulating or administering and programs and for planning, organizing, and directing the work of one or more data management organizational policies programs or units through subordinate supervisors, or direct supervision. The incumbent may manage the work of lower-level supervisors, support staff and contractors. The incumbent will maintain and demonstrate a depth of leadership and expertise in the program business areas and tasks, which include collaboration with DHCS's stakeholders, internal and external, to support the Department's efforts in data management and strategy, which may include highly complex, enterprise-level projects. The incumbent will be responsible for directing and supervising staff in duties related to data management products and services to support the Department in aligning with Federal, State, and Local law and legislation.

This position is subject to the Department's Conflict of Interest Code and filing a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) when assuming this position, annually by April 1, and when leaving this position.

This recruitment has been posted for multiple vacancies candidates will be considered for all open positions. Additionally, this recruitment may be used to fill additional identical vacancies which occur within 180 days of the closing date of this bulletin.

Training and Development (T&D) assignments may be considered for this position for current California civil service employees. T&D assignments cannot exceed 24 months. However, successful T&D candidates may transition to a permanent appointment, if eligible at the end of the T&D assignment.

    The incumbent must have knowledge of principles, techniques, and procedures related to the delivery of data management services; the Data Lifecycle including the associated methodologies, tools, and processes; the organization's business processes and procedures; education tools and techniques; performance monitoring tools and techniques.

    The incumbent will provide an oversight on complex data management projects, perform a variety of data-related tasks in connection with the analysis, procurement, data definitions, and other data design work.

    Telework Information
    The DHCS standard for hybrid work is a minimum of two days per week inperson and site-based and up to three teleworking days per week.
