POSITION CONCEPT
  • Security Architect with experience on NERC compliance.
  • Responsible for architecting, designing and evaluating security architectures to protect critical infrastructure.
  • This position will work with project teams in developing security architectures to protect our substations and solar sites and interface with our corporate systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and Implementation: Develop and implement security architectures for IT projects, ensuring alignment with NERC standards and organizational goals.
  • Firewall Management: Design, configure, and make decisions on firewall solutions to protect network boundaries and ensure secure data flow.
  • Interface Security: Design security measures for interfaces between external systems and the corporate environment to ensure secure integration and data exchange
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT and security teams to design, implement and manage security controls.

Project Assignments and security validations:
  • Need this contractor to create the take list of Security requirements and create a checklist for every new project to identify what areas are impacted
  • Use the spreadsheet as follows:
  • Attend the Architecture Review Board and identify any projects that need to be verified through the spreadsheet created above
  • If there are any areas that they cannot comply, work with the project team and involve other architects to find a technical solution.

Security Risk Assessment
  • Work with the Enterprise Risk team to get the output of their risk assessment for any projects that show as high risk
  • Work with the project team and other architects to mitigate or reduce the risk through technology changes - focus on architecture.
  • Work with Security Architect in the design of the firewall and security controls for the substations.
  • This is work in progress and need to work side to side in supporting on this effort.
