Job Duties

The Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking a dynamic Security Architect for a full-time position with our Information Security and Risk Management group in Richmond, Virginia.

The Security Architect will apply knowledge and understanding of security hardening baselines and techniques to design and engineer secure solutions across complex enterprise environments including cloud, to protect the value of the systems and information assets of the enterprise from both external and internal threats, and to meet federal, state and other requirements (e.g., COV Security Standards SEC530, PCI DSS).

They will be responsible to evaluate and ensure all system architecture deployments are designed by clearly understood policies and tested for compliance and weaknesses on routine basis; support preparation and management of comprehensive scanning, testing and evaluation plans that address implementation of operational and technical security controls; utilize skills in communication, presentation, facilitation and negotiation to collaborate, consult and implement system security and controls with internal and external leadership, stakeholders, and technology partners; positively influence, build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners and team members while communicating and implementing security standards and policies with regard for organizational risk and compliance, and utilize time management and organizational skills to balance multiple priorities in a fast paced environment to meet time sensitive deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

•Possess excellent time-management, problem solving, and critical thinking capabilities; Ability to work in a highly stressful, face paced environment and meet time sensitive deadlines.
•Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively build relationships with, collaborate with and influence stakeholders at all levels, internal and external to the organization.
•Possess excellent skills in communicating complex and technical concepts to audiences at different levels of understanding.
•Extensive experience in analyzing and evaluating security solutions/components for business requirements.
•Experience with securing Microsoft Azure cloud platform and attack surfaces.
•Extensive knowledge of security hardening techniques for Microsoft OS, Linux, Oracle, Microsoft SQL.

Additional Considerations

•Possession of CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP, CISM, CED or CRTSA Certification.
•Experience in monitoring and protecting the attack surfaces as they relate to harden system security controls.
•Experience with IT governance, policies, controls, and compliance.
