Security Engineering Designer, BIM Modeller

Tesla is looking for an experienced Security Engineering Designer / BIM Modeller who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and assisting in managing security systems for our facilities. The ideal candidate will bring a customer-facing attitude and have a strong background in security systems engineering, experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM), and proficiency in low voltage system design including one-line diagrams. Experience with Dynamo and Python to assist with automation tools is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design security systems, including access control, surveillance, and alarm systems using BIM software, create and manage BIM models for security system design and coordination
• Create detailed security engineering drawings, specifications, and models, including low voltage one-line diagrams
• Collaborate with other engineering and design disciplines to integrate security systems into overall building designs
• Utilize Dynamo and other automation tools to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of BIM modeling and security system design
• Ensure that all security designs comply with Tesla's standards and industry regulations
• Design and document low voltage systems, including one-line diagrams for security systems, ensuring all low voltage designs meet project specifications and regulatory requirements
• Work closely with project managers to deliver security system designs on time and within budget
• Provide technical support, including site visits and inspections
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on security system design and implementation
• Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholsers to ensure the successful implementation of security systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Security Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in security system design and BIM modeling or a related field
• Proficiency in BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, etc.)
• Experience with Dynamo and automation tools
• Strong understanding of security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection
• Experience in designing low voltage systems and creating one-line diagrams
• Familiarity with design standards and regulatory requirements related to security systems and low voltage design
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Strong, internal customer-oriented communication skills, both written and verbal

Expected Compensation

$104,000 - $348,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
