Who You Are:

As a Security Officer at Catholic Medical Center (CMC), you're a guardian committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone entering our premises. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the protection of our patients, visitors, medical staff, and employees, safeguarding the hospital's buildings and property.

This is a fully benefitted full-time (40 hour/week) position. The schedule is a 5 day work week and the hours are 3pm to 11pm with Tuesday and Wednesday off.

What You'll Do:

Under the supervision of the Security Director and in adherence to established protocols, your responsibilities will encompass:

• Conducting regular patrols of Hospital buildings, grounds, and parking areas to uphold safety standards.

• Documenting all activities and incidents meticulously, maintaining a detailed Security Log.

• Swiftly responding to emergency situations, codes, and any Hospital-specific alerts.

• Assisting authorized personnel and physicians in accessing restricted areas as required.

• Coordinating with specific departments, such as Mom's Place, for sensitive matters.

• Maintaining continuous communication via radio systems and providing courteous escorts upon request.

• Reacting promptly and professionally to disasters, fires, and other unforeseen emergencies.

• Ensuring confidentiality while fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.

• Handling patient valuables, lost and found items, and evidentiary materials with precision and care.

• Conducting routine equipment maintenance and ensuring a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

• Preferably a background in security, law enforcement, or military.

• Strong customer service skills are beneficial.

• Physical agility to maneuver in various environments and perform diverse tasks.

• Clear and effective verbal communication skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in processing information.

• Resilience to manage heavy workloads or periods of heightened stress.

• Proficiency in general computer skills and adaptability to system upgrades.

• Flexibility in working weekends and holidays as required.

• High School graduate or equivalent. Preferably, post-secondary education.

• Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle history.

• Successful completion of Basic Security Officer Certification through IAHSS within 6 months of employment and subsequent recertification.

• Ability to obtain initial and annual certification for issued equipment.
