Job Duties
We are seeking a Part Time- Evening Shift Security Officer with Shift Differential in order to protect hospital-controlled properties and equipment and provide a safe and secure environment for Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute (NVMHI). This position patrols the facilities grounds and buildings ensuring the areas are secure and that safety issues are addressed. It supports activities of the facilities such as responding to behavioral emergencies, escorting individuals we serve on Special Hospitalizations, patrol nursing unit every 15 minutes, processing electronic fingerprinting, ensuring equipment temperatures are functioning properly, responding to alarms, supporting emergency management programs, transporting individuals, and providing support to the switchboard/reception. The successful candidate will have knowledge of Virginia state codes, laws, and regulations; ability to follow written and oral instructions; to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; have ability to write reports; have the ability to use Microsoft products; and to use interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must be able to work mandatory overtime as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in a security/safety position required.
Current state motor vehicle operator's license required.
High School Graduate or Equivalent
Computer Skills with Micro Soft Products

Experience with MH population a plus!
