- Serves as the DTIC Security Officer with responsibilities entailing the oversight of all DTIC security matters.
- Implementing and administering security policies laws, regulations, and internal security requirements of Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Research and Engineering) (OUSDRE), Department of Defense (DoD), and DTIC in .
- Serves as an authoritative source on personnel security matters, develops security policies and practices, and advises the DTIC Administrator, Principal Deputy Administrator, and Directorate leadership.
- Oversees Security Program in accordance with the Department of Defense policy classification, downgrading, declassification, transmission, transportation, and safeguarding of information.
