Scope of Job

To ensure smooth and orderly functioning of the Clinical Education Center by overseeing, providing support and coordinating the day to day operations of the programs for medical students.

Description of Duties

• Supervises, coordinates, and manages the daily activities of the clinical education program and its staff. .
• Establishes new student placement contracts and affiliation agreements with hospitals, clinics, and other clinical education facilities. Maintains and renews existing affiliation agreements.
• Coordinates and maintains onboarding requirements for all affiliate hospitals and clinical sites including maintaining and updating immunization records required by facilities for the course of the student's enrollment in the clinical education program..
• Completes, submits and coordinates all required academic data forms from the VA, all affiliate hospitals, and all clinical sites including required computer and building access. .
• Provides administrative decision-making, supervision, and support to the faculty and leadership of the clinical education program..
• Coordinates educational activities that support the institutional curriculum and adhere to CPME requirements. .
• Develops, implements, supervises, and manages standards for attainment of the clinical education program activities in accordance with stated objectives and CPME requirements. .
• Performs matriculation orientation for all clerkships, electives, and externship requirements. .
• Assists in coordinating, maintaining, and updating the credentialing of community/volunteer faculty for the clinical education program. .
• Coordinates and facilitates activities to prepare podiatric students for clinical experience placement in clerkship, externship, and residency program. .
• Prepares materials for clerkship and externship curriculums. .
• Assists with the development and supervision of clinical schedules for the clinical education program..
• Coordinates and facilitates meetings with leadership, health providers, and hospital/clinic administrators as needed..
• Assists with the development of the longitudinal/vertical integration, transitional clinical education, and clerkship curriculum.
• Responsible for preparing recurring clinical education program budgetary reports in coordination with finance and administration for management use or as required for project or program.

General supervision from assigned supervisor.

Direct supervision of assigned staff.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university.

Preferred Education

Master's Degree in a related field from an accredited University.

Licenses/Certifications

None.

Required Experience

• Three (3) years of experience in the appropriate field of the program, or
• Five (5) years of the required experience with an Associate Degree or 60 hours of College Credit, or
• Seven (7) years of the required experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience

None.

Equipment

Use of standard office equipment.

Working Conditions

Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend work is required. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
