Position Overview



The Senior Account Manager is an integral member of the People Solutions team, partnering closely with the Unit Manager, Client Executives, and Account Executives. Overall responsibilities include meeting day-to-day client needs, providing significant lift to the account team, fully developing client presentations, and having the ability to market and present all lines of coverage from start to finish. The associate must be familiar with Lockton Northeast policies & procedures and ensure overall compliance.



The Senior Account Manager will be a participant in the Lockton Northeast Career Advancement Program which is designed to provide technical and practical training supporting continued career progression. A high performing and successful Senior Account Manager will provide excellent customer service, organization, be proactive, and have the ability to drive strategy and negotiate renewals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary project manager and business contact for day-to-day issues for clients
  • Establish, develop and maintain relationships with Clients, carriers and vendors
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the Clients’ business, strategic priorities, risk strategies and employee benefit needs
  • Oversee the servicing of a designated book of business as relating to marketing, claims and administration
  • Develop and presents plans and renewal terms to Client. This includes analyzing quotes, negotiating with carriers and presenting recommendations.
  • Monitor and research market trends, carrier product offerings and information that will increase knowledge of the insurance industry, our clients and market verticals
  • Monitor and align functional strategy to emphasize innovation, continuous improvement and anticipation of Client, Business and industry needs and trends
  • Plans for contingencies and demonstrates effective and timely decision making, using business knowledge and data to take appropriate risks
  • Proactive in communication, conflict management and managing program timelines
  • Recommends and implements potential enhancements or improvements to processes, products and /or policies
  • Demonstrates financial acumen through analysis, interpretation and presentation of data, to identify problems and solutions
  • Ability to serve as the account lead on less complex mid-market accounts under the supervision of an Advisor
  • Fosters an environment of learning, innovation, motivating others, intelligent risk-taking, knowledge sharing and commitment to Lockton’s vision and strategy


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related program preferred or equivalent education and/or experience required
  • A minimum of three years of commercial benefits insurance experience and/or HR, insurance broking/consulting experience required
  • Demonstrated presentation skills including preparation and execution
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to instill confidence in Clients and Associates at all levels of responsibility
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
  • Willingness and ability to work outside of normal business hours and travel as needed
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Legally able to work in the United States
