Job Description:

The Senior PowerSchool Analyst oversees the administration and management of the PowerSchool platform, encompassing development, integration, and ongoing support, as well as maintaining other enterprise software solutions. This role also includes leading a team of three to four Analysts. Success in this position requires maintaining clear, consistent communication with both our customers in the schools, and district office leadership.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates technical skill set and significant experience, with the ability to work independently.
  • Utilizes extensive experience and sound judgment to plan and achieve goals.
  • Provides support and services for other information systems, including data collection, state reporting, and data analysis.
  • Maintains and manages current PowerSchool environments, including user accounts and security groups/roles, while recommending process and workflow improvements in line with PowerSchool best practices.
  • Plans and executes basic and advanced database functions related to systems operations.
  • Oversees the maintenance of test environments (when available), and plans, implements, coaches, and trains staff on new releases and program updates.
  • Develops and maintains basic/advanced reporting capabilities within PowerSchool.
  • Assists in research, analysis, requirement gathering, design, testing, and implementation of new PowerSchool features, customizations, and add-on modules.
  • Assists with monitoring ongoing operations and data integrity, assisting with student data audits.
  • Assists with maintaining comprehensive system documentation on procedures and configurations.
  • Serves as support for user inquiries, customization and reporting requests, and technical issues with PowerSchool, with ultimate responsibility for end-user support.
  • Available on-call as needed, including during non-standard hours, for critical equipment upgrades.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  1. Educational Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited four-year institution is required. Alternatively, equivalent professional experience may substitute academic qualifications at the rate of two years' experience for each year of college coursework. A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in computer programming is also required.
  2. Technical Expertise: Proven experience in specialized programming analysis and design with proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Crystal Reports, and other query reporting software is essential.
  3. Certifications: Advanced certification in PowerSchool SIS Administration and Management, along with Database Management, is mandatory.
