The senior assessment and curriculum specialist oversees the ongoing evaluation of student learning and support services at SCAD. In this data-driven role, you will promote the understanding, value, and application of assessment results by compiling and communicating reports for a variety of stakeholders, as well as preparing documentation for use in accreditation and other high-stakes processes. Additional responsibilities include refining assessment materials to effectively measure student learning, guiding faculty and academic leaders in program and curriculum development, and facilitating the ongoing implementation of curricular enhancement for assigned academic departments.

The successful candidate has the background and skills needed to lead the curriculum and assessment process from concept to completion, including development of course content, articulation of learning outcomes, instrument design and formatting, data collection and entry, descriptive analysis, presentation of results, and discussion of implications and next steps. The candidate has strong teamwork skills, is an excellent communicator, and is adaptable and flexible while multitasking within a fast-paced environment.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Three years of experience in education, student outcomes assessment, program evaluation, and/or educational research with skills in qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Ability to present complicated information in an innovative and meaningful way to diverse audiences
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite (especially Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and statistical analysis programs, such as SPSS

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Three to five years of experience working in curriculum development or a registrar's office that implements curriculum changes
  • Advanced Banner experience in the student module; experience with Acalog and DegreeWorks

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver's license

Travel required: Less than 10%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
