In this position, you will develop expertise, expand your knowledge and build collaborative relationships within the practice and with clients. Further, you will have meaningful support from firm leadership for substantial professional development and perform state and local tax due diligence while living inside or outside of traditional major markets.

How you will contribute:

• Advising clients on enhancing state and local tax opportunities and managing state and local tax risk associated with mergers and acquisitions, including post-acquisition actions
• Analyzing state and local tax risks of target companies using tax returns, accounting information, and interviews with management
• Preparing reports correlating state and local tax due diligence and tax structuring findings.
• Identifying issues affecting purchase price, deal structure, or deal termination
• Working closely with executives, investment bankers, private equity and corporate clients, attorneys, or other stakeholders
• Engaged in multiple concurrent engagements
• Working alongside other Forvis Mazars team members to exceed client expectations

We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:

• Extensive analytical and project management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with corporate and flow-through concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to develop relationships with both team members and external clients
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and PowerPoint
• Willingness and ability to travel

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university or CPA eligible; licensed CPA is preferred or JD./LLM
• Two (2) years or more of state and local tax experience with a large public accounting or consulting firm with experience in Transaction Services / M&A Tax preferred
• Strong current knowledge in state and local income, franchise and indirect tax, mergers and acquisitions, and transaction services

The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position.
