BWC is currently operating under a hybrid schedule that may incorporate both teleworking and in-person office hours. Employees must be able to report to the office when requested by management &/or for their initial job training.

What You'll Be Doing:

Receives general direction from the Business Intelligence Manager & possesses a thorough technical working knowledge to assure requirements are defined & approved, performing code reviews & ensuring BWC's application development standards are met.
  • Serving as a senior technical resource for team engaged in analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, implementation, integration, scheduling, troubleshooting, support & maintenance of custom business intelligence programs, scripts, & jobs (e.g. reporting, dashboards, process automation, data query, exchange, interface, & transformation) in support of business intelligence tasks & activities (e.g. visualization, statistical analysis, machine learning, simulation, inference).
  • Reading, writing, extracting & reporting from data sources (e.g. databases, transaction files, & real time data streams) using software development tools (e.g. SQL, Tableau, Cognos, Python).
  • Participating in code reviews.
  • Leading testing efforts (e.g. create detailed test designs & test plans, create & review test data, coordinate execution of test scripts, coordinate debugging efforts & defect tracking, coordinate support of user acceptance testing, coordinate software implementation & deployment tasks, performs performance & load testing).
  • Managing & monitoring BI applications to ensure optimal performance, security, & updates.
  • Collaborating with business area personnel to assure requirements are thoroughly defined & approved.
  • Performing impact analyses to identify interdependencies.
  • Assisting with design reviews & workload requirements estimation.
  • Obtaining or imparting information from/to business customers & technical staff through discussions (e.g. data structures, data warehouse tools, business intelligence techniques).

Qualifications

Required Experience and/or Education

  • 60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 mos. work experience in the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
  • Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems AND 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 mos. work experience in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems AND 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 mos. work experience in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
  • Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
