The Opportunity
  • Responsible for oversight, coordination, and performance of payer contract modeling and reporting activities, including analysis of the financial impact of proposed payer contracts on revenue streams.
  • Assess payer contract performance, considering numerous variables such as changes in Medicare/Medicaid allowable, acuity distributions, collections, changes in contract rates, and/or changes in line of business distribution.
  • Represent Vituity in meetings with other organizations, associations, providers, and payors regarding all payer contract modeling and ad hoc reporting aspects.
  • Establish benchmarks on market rates and quantify reimbursement trends.
  • Assist Contract Managers with the development and oversight of quality incentive payments tied to payer contracts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and communicate the status of payer performance to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Extract and integrate data from disparate sources to review the financial health of payer contracts.
  • Identify reporting deficiencies and assists in the resolution of data issues.
  • Apply knowledge of healthcare billing practices, contract operations, billing systems, data fields, and fee schedules to identify opportunities to increase revenue and collections.
  • Proactively understand, monitor, and report critical revenue cycle operations metrics including market trends, KPIs, and benchmarks.
  • Create interactive, dynamic models that can be used to measure financial impacts.
  • Develop business intelligence solutions using Business Objects, and Tableau technologies.
  • Assist in the development of an enterprise analytical and self-service/ ad-hoc reporting environment.
  • Architect, design, develop, and test complex business intelligence solutions, infrastructure and tools, visualization, analytic and database dashboards.
  • Lead and perform complex data mining and deep analysis of data sets to provide recommendations and solutions based on payer contract requirements.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for business intelligence solutions, infrastructure and tools, best practices, and content delivery via business intelligence dashboards, visualizations, and reporting systems.
  • Guide and make recommendations and propose solutions for improving processes in reporting systems.

Required Experience and Competencies
  • 5+ years of experience in a healthcare environment required.
  • 3+ years of experience with BI solutions (Tableau preferred, Power BI) required.
  • 3+ years of experience writing SQL queries, performance tuning of BI queries, and BI development working with Snowflake data warehouse required.
  • Demonstrated financial analysis skills required.
  • Experience with payer entities, other healthcare providers, or with a healthcare financial/management consulting firm is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Math/Statistics or a related field of study is required.
  • Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Math/Statistics or a related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to research and make decisions based on the day-to-day and complex problems required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required. Understands the client's best interests are served through smooth, seamless service delivery.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills are required.
  • Maturity to strike a balance between showing initiative and seeking appropriate guidance and input from others.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into easy-to-understand and simple reports utilizing Business Intelligence tools.
  • Ability to analyze ambiguous technical and customer situations and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, identify and prioritize issues to meet deadlines and organizational goals.
  • Ability to develop and maintain performance goals.
  • Knowledge of basic data management and data programming principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare claims and billing data.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (i.e., Business Objects, Tableau, SAS).
  • Demonstrated financial analysis skills.
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, organized, and flexible individual able to perform multiple tasks with varying priorities under conditions requiring speed and accuracy.
