The Senior Billing Specialist-Facility possesses an in-depth knowledge of all Medicare and Medicaid payor contracts and billing guidelines. Must also have knowledge of various billing policies, procedures and requirements for these payers. Creates charges as needed, performs all billing, follow-up, denials, appeals and payment variance review. Communicates payer issues, delays and concerns to Management and Payer Representatives on a consistent basis.

Position Requirements

High School Diploma or GED and 3 years or more of experience in patient accounting or healthcare environment. Skills required: Knowledge of ICD-10 codes, CPT codes and Third Party Insurance Claims. Typing, Proficient with various computer systems, and medical terminology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Requirements

Vocational or technical training or degree: Medical Billing or Coding. 3 years or more of experience in medical billing. Coding experience preferred.
