As a Senior BMC Discovery Administrator, you will implement and leverage the capabilities of BMC Discovery and the BMC Remedy IT Service Management suite developing workflows, data forms, reconciliation and normalization jobs, and discover patterns to implement and maintain a fully functioning CMDB. The exciting opportunity will support private cloud and virtualized hosting services for an enterprise implementation for the customer. Hosting services are provided through two geodiverse, remotely managed data centers.

HOW A SENIOR BMC DISCOVERY ADMINISTRATORWILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Install, configure, and administer BMC Discovery appliances and proxy/outpost servers in production and development environments
  • Configure, implement, analyze, and report on BMC Discovery scans
  • Perform BMC Discovery administration tasks such as user account administration, TKU, and operating system updates, appliance backups, and maintain proxy/outpost servers
  • Proactively monitor space usage, deleting log files, and correcting errors on BMC Discovery
  • Fully integrate BMC Asset Management with BMC Discovery to maintain the currency and accuracy of the IT asset database with routine BMC scan results
  • Design and implement business rules and workflows to configure or modify BMC Discovery, Atrium CMDB, and Asset Managementto meet requirements
  • Develop solutions to complex technical issues utilizing Remedy modules, including CMDB, Service Level Management (SLM), and Service Request Management (SRM)
  • Implement enhancement requests and defect corrections following formal Change Request Management process
  • Coordinate and preform application upgrades in partnership with vendor and customer
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet contract, company, and department goals and objectives
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree and 15 years of experience or Bachelor's degree and 17 years of experience
  • 5+ years of experience with BMC Discovery, Helix/Remedy ITSM, and Atrium CMDB
  • BMC CMDB Associate certification preferred
  • BMC Discovery Professional certification preferred
  • BMC Helix ITSM Associate certification preferred
Preferred Technical Skills:
  • Experience with administering, customizing, and deploying the Remedy Action Request System 9.x, ITSM suite to include Smart IT
  • Ability to use CMDB Normalization and Reconciliation to bring together multiple data sources
  • Integrate data points through DB connections, BL2Atrium, and Web API into CMDB datasets. Such as with BMC Discovery, VMware, BMC BSA
  • Experience with the Smart IT and Smart Reporting to create, distribute effective, actionable reports, and user interface
  • Ensure a high level of data accuracy and normalization. Integrating foundational data. Documenting and mapping the CMDB structure and data integrations
  • Service mapping, entering business data, and building relationships in the CMDB
  • Experience integrating process and functional area: Change Management, Asset Management, Service Desk, etc
  • Ensuring all the information is protected, backed-up, and performing recovery operations
  • Experience customizing Remedy and Smart IT forms, and workflows

The likely salary range for this position is $142,324 - $192,556. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
