As the Senior Analyst of Business Intelligence, you will be responsible for designing and building analytics-based tools that are technically sophisticated, yet easy to understand and use by business teams. You'll combine data research, statistical modeling, data visualization and User Interface (UI) design to deliver high-impact results. What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Identify, lead and deliver efforts to build reports, visualizations and dashboards using BI tools and practices
  • Engage with stakeholders across the organization to align priorities, communicate solution design trade-offs and recommendations, and build and execute development plans
  • Work creatively with other teams to perform data and process analyses; articulately and concisely explain the implications of complex data
  • Continuously improve technical design patterns, workflows and tools, defining and enforcing standards when necessary to maintain the platform's effectiveness and sustainability; experiment with and promote adoption of new tools and approaches when appropriate

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 2 years of experience in BI and data analytics
  • Experience analyzing large, complex multidimensional datasets with data querying languages (SQL), BI tools (MicroStrategy, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.), programming languages (Python, Java, Scala, etc.), and statistical/mathematical software (R, Weka, SAS, Matlab)
  • Experience working with both structured and unstructured data, and Hadoop or similar technologies, to recognize patterns within data and generate insights/deliver value; familiarity with streaming analytics using tools such as Spark, Kafka, Storm, etc., and cloud services like AWS, Azure Cloud, etc.
  • Experience with machine learning, such as k-nearest neighbors, random forests, ensemble methods and their corresponding implementation packages in R (Caret, RandomForest, Rweka, etc.), and Python (SciKit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, NLTK, etc.)
  • Ability to use best practices and principles in SQL, query design, data validation/automation and analytic functions
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geospatial data, GIS analysis and workflow, and cartographic and graphic design principles

It'd be great if you also have:
  • MBA or master's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • R/Python certifications; Certified Business Intelligence Professional from TDWI
  • 5 years of hands-on experience delivering BI and data analytics solutions that involve statistical modeling or machine learning, along with the use of associated R/Python libraries and tooling, which emphasize effective design and usability for end users
  • Knowledge of Oracle OTM
