We have an exciting opportunity to join our Business Intelligence team as a Senior Business Intelligence Developer. This is a fully remote position.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior BI Developer will focus on reporting tools in Epic (our electronic health record application), backend development with SQL, SSIS, and other database application development tools in a .Net environment. This is an excellent senior level opportunity that will also be heavily focused and trained on Epic.

As a Senior BI Developer, you would be responsible for the design, development, support, and execution of reports, dashboards, and solutions that support Ardent Health's market and corporate customers. This role is also responsible for understanding the core technical components of Ardent's applications, databases, and developing solutions to drive increased productivity, engagement, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in architecting Ardent's future state BI environments / developments.
  • Responsible for gathering requirements, creation, operational stability, tuning, and management of reports and dashboards utilizing BI reporting tools (e.g. SAS, PowerBI, Excel etc).
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports from Dashboards, Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.
  • Writing/executing advanced SQL queries to create and maintain various Datasets for Reports and Dashboards.
  • Complete all tasks in a timely manner with accurate documentation.
  • Participate in agile meetings (e.g. daily scrums, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and sprint planning).
  • Good Communications skills and a Team Player.
  • Mentor other developers as required and act as an SME where required.
  • Investigate and complete build for reporting tool upgrades.
  • On-call support rotation for critical applications and reports.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Computer/Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Management or equivalent
  • Master's Degree in Business Analytics, Computer/Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Management or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years of BI systems design and administration
  • 5+ years of designing and developing ETL queries and/or reporting from SQL Server and/or Oracle database
  • 5+ years of writing queries in SAS or Python or R
  • 10+ years of designing and developing ETL queries and/or reporting from SQL Server and Oracle preferred
  • 5+ years of designing SQL queries in SAS or Python or R for advanced data models preferred
  • 5+ years of building reports and/or dashboards in PowerBI preferred
  • 5+ years of experience working with Medical Claims and knowledge of various Codes & medical terminology (e.g. DRGs, HCPCS, CPTs etc.) preferred
  • Experience working within the healthcare industry preferred
  • Working experience with Medical Claims and knowledge of various Codes & medical terminology (e.g. DRGs, HCPCS, CPTs etc.)
  • Experience with all phases of the development lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, support)

Knowledge, Skills &d Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of writing SQL or Python or R queries within BI tools like PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Proven track record of developing well-architected BI solutions using tools like PowerBI or Tableau that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Team player with a can-do approach to solving complex technical problems.
  • Ability to consult with business leaders directly through development of positive working relationships.
  • High degree of critical thinking along with the ability to be an innovative problem solver who works independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence techniques preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of writing SQL or Python or R queries or DAX expressions within PowerBI preferred.
