This position will be part of the business analytics team responsible for building out analysis, visualization tools, and processes for the Financial Automation and Theft Reduction workstream within Global Logistics.

Key job responsibilities

- Design, implement, and maintain robust business intelligence (BI) solutions that empower stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.

- Collaborate closely with the business and subject matter experts to deeply understand their reporting and analytics requirements.

- Design and develop complex data models, ETL (extract, transform, load) processes, and interactive dashboards/visualizations for Manifest Automation, Continuous Improvement, Unplanned Charge Automation, Cargo-theft reduction, and Seller Risk Assessment initiatives.

- Automate data integration and transformation workflows to ensure timely, accurate, and scalable reporting capabilities.

- Optimize query performance to support increasing data volumes and user demands, ensuring BI infrastructure remains efficient and reliable.

- Provide support and hands-on training to end-users.

- Stay on top of the latest BI trends and recommend strategic improvements.

A day in the life

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, your day will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable insights. You will design and develop data models, ETL processes, and interactive dashboards to support various initiatives, such as Manifest Automation, Continuous Improvement, Unplanned Charge Automation, Cargo-theft reduction, and Seller Risk Assessment.

Additionally, you will automate data integration and transformation workflows, ensuring timely and accurate reporting capabilities. Optimizing query performance and maintaining the efficiency of the BI infrastructure will be a crucial part of your responsibilities. Throughout the day, you may provide support and training to end-users, as well as stay updated on the latest BI trends to recommend strategic improvements.

About the team

The Cargo Integrity & Recovery Services (CIRS) team is part of Amazon Global Logistics (Amazon Inbound Transportation). We are a passionate and dedicated group focused on upholding financial compliance, cargo integrity, creating end-to-end visibility in Amazon's inbound supply chain network, increasing trust, and reducing risks for our customers. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of professional or military experience

- 5+ years of SQL experience

- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

- Experience with AWS technologies

- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
