The Senior Business Reporting Analyst is responsible for the management and manipulation of mostly structured data, with a focus on building business intelligence tools, conducting analysis, performing normalization operations, and assuring data quality. Depending on the specific role and business line, example responsibilities in this function could include creating specifications to bring data into a common structure, creating product specifications and models, developing data solutions to support analyses, performing analysis, interpreting results, developing actionable insights, and presenting recommendations for use across the company.

The Senior Business Reporting Analyst will partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization. They will be producing and managing the delivery of activity and value analytics to external stakeholders and clients. They could be using business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis and interpret data.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide reporting support and analysis to internal staff for external and internal support
  • Serve as the customer report analysis expert for assigned department
  • Maintaining close contact with departmental leadership from multiple departments, (including Analytics and Market Executives to respond to market needs)
  • Accurately analyze and collect data for various types of business reports
  • Pull data from various places, organize and analyze it while looking for trends, inconsistencies, and ways to improve the business
  • Use business intelligence (BI) tools and software to create reports and data visualizations to help communicate the data in a way that everyone can understand
  • Automate day to day business processes for routine file manipulations and reporting
  • Manipulate extracted data from SQL, Access, Excel, and Tableau, and create reports that will be presented to leadership on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Review data to identify enhancements and/or changes for improving current solutions
  • Evaluate and complete requests for enhancements, modifications or special reports
  • Developing solutions based on your analysis
  • Creating data flow and process flow diagrams to understand overall process and recommend improvements
  • Assisting with ad hoc reports, process management and other tasks as assigned
  • Interpret and analyze large amounts of data from multiple sources and tell a meaningful story
  • Communicate the results of data analysis in written and verbal form to managers
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in reporting and analytics

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Data Analytics and Reporting experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Tableau, Alteryx, R
  • Ability to use SQL and Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, graphs and charts
  • Healthcare experience within payer and provider
  • Reporting and process automation experience using R, Python, Alteryx or Power Automate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and excellent organizational skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to stakeholders
  • Excellent critical thinking skills to help solve business problems and make decisions
  • Tendency to pay close attention to small details that could impact results
  • General knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, process and information flow
