This position is full-time. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer 8 - 12 weeks of paid training. The hours of training will be based on your schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Individuals in this position are responsible for managing a caseload of initial liability and ongoing Short Term Disability claims.
  • They will effectively and professionally utilize sound judgment, technical knowledge, communication skills, and focused resources (medical, vocational, legal, etc.) to manage claims to appropriate conclusion in accordance with applicable internal and external regulations, policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent years of work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of previous short term disability experience
  • Ability to work any shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FML and / OR Worker's Compensation claims experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
