Overview
Schedules procedures and other coordinated and related appointments and testing functions using information received from a variety of sources. Working within Gastroenterology section to support their procedural needs and to provide ultimate customer service to the section, providers and most importantly the patients. This position will manage the scheduling of patients within our Endoscopy suites. This position will be part of an established scheduling team collaborating with each other to coordinate an efficient and safe procedural schedule. A hybrid opporutnity; some on site work will be required, remote opportunies exist upon completion of training.

Responsibilities
  • Answers telephone, screens and directs calls, gives directions, and takes messages.
  • Schedules patients, manages calendars, schedules procedures, ancillaries, rotaries, and coordinates deposition scheduling.
  • Maintains, tracks, and sends charts. May provide scribing and other administrative support to clinical staff.
  • Types letters, memoranda, manuscripts, grants, etc. Composes and edits correspondence.
  • Performs file/record management functions, prepares/constructs charts/departmental patient records, and obtains new medical record numbers.
  • Completes and processes a variety of reports, forms, reimbursements, etc.
  • Conducts on the job training for new staff members and gives input into performance appraisals. Supports the work of other employees, work study students, floats, temps, volunteers and others.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

  • Qualifications
    • High School diploma with 3 years of administrative support experience or the equivalent required.
    • Proven experience working with the public required.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology may be required.
    • Proficiency in PC word processing, spreadsheets, and Excel, Power Point, MC Publisher software's.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
    • Previous experience working in a medical setting preferred.
