HDR is looking for a Senior Construction Inspector to work as a member of our Florida CCC team in Orlando on fast-paced, short duration projects. The Senior Inspector will primarily work independently on FDOT projects consisting of milling and resurfacing, bridge construction, signalization, earthwork operations, stripping operations, and final estimate preparation. They will interact on a daily basis with FDOT Project Administrators and other FDOT personnel. This a terrific opportunity for candidates looking to advance their career in inspection with upward mobility and long-term employment with a fast-growing program and employee-owned company. This position will be based at a field office located in Orlando, Florida. Position will include some night, holiday, and weekend work, and qualified candidates must be willing to work as-needed on these occasions. This position requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical school or Associate's degree
  • 10 years of relevant highway/roadway or bridge inspection experience
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
  • Local candidates are strongly preferred
  • Industry certifications that are strongly preferred include:
    • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1
    • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Levels I
    • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection
    • IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I
    • CTQP Final Estimates Level I
    • FDOT Intermediate MOT
    • Nuclear Radiation Safety, Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors - Critical Structure

      Construction Issues, Self-Study Course - CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges) - CTQP Pile Driving

      Inspection - CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years experience
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing
