The UHS Corporate Risk team is hiring a Senior Corporate Risk Manager of Quality and Data Analytics will lead the analytical, reporting, and process improvement capabilities of the Corporate Risk Management Department across strategic and operationally significant responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Directs the collection, transformation, analysis, and reporting of complex high volume, high dimensionality data from varying sources for the Corporate Risk Management Department and risk data for the Behavioral Health Division.
  • Performs advanced analysis of trends and develops tactical and strategic recommendations that drive and support division wide changes/improvements regarding patient care, patient outcomes and system wide opportunities for improving patient safety.
  • Utilizes business intelligence to analyze losses and claims to identify where to focus improvement activities.
  • Oversees the presentation/reporting of data to various stakeholder levels within the division from executive senior leaders to facility risk managers.
  • Provides guidance, oversight and direction to facility risk managers, Corporate Risk Managers, Risk Data Analysts, and Team Leaders to address and prevent risk issues, trends, and patterns.
  • Serves as a member of the PsychSafe Patient Safety Evaluation System (PSES) Workforce, a federally listed Patient Safety Organization (PSO).and direct the collection and analysis of Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP), including but not limited to Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Patient Safety Council structure/documentation, and identification of primary safety initiatives, medication safety reviews, and compliance efforts of the PSO.
  • Constructs the behavioral health division's Patient Safety Plan and annual PSWP Workplan. Participates in the annual review and revision of the division's PsychSafe policies and procedures.
  • Manages the content of the Corporate Risk Management sections of the PSO PSES and Facility Minisites.
  • Designs and maintains organizational structure and nomenclature for the sites. Participates in the PSO's AHRQ listing and compliance activities.
  • Maintains PSWP distribution logs and calendars. Prepares PSO documents and PSWP for submission to Corporate Patient Safety Council.
  • Leads and participates in cross functional teams, analyzing and researching new and existing procedures and workflow.
  • Designs, documents, and implements future state business processes.
  • Determines project plans, communication plans, improvement plans, organizational indicators, and oversees deliverables of PI teams.
  • Directs the collection of information such as commonalities among populations and lessons learned from facility improvements to broadly champion for change within the division.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in a healthcare related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of statistical methodologies and techniques including Six Sigma, 10 or more years of data analytical experience required.
  • Possesses an understanding of how data supports policies and programs along with an understanding of IT concepts and systems, ability to interpret data and translate abstract concepts into tangible information.
  • Experience with design of written and electronic forms (operational and medical record forms) and electronic databases.
  • Project management and meeting facilitation experience.
  • Experience leading process development and revision.
  • Ability to balance division wide goals and strategy with making and implementing specific decisions in alignment with workable solutions utilizing an extensive knowledge of regulatory, nursing, and operational processes.
  • Experience in the implementation and on-going maintenance of Continuous Quality Improvement systems in a multi-hospital environment with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Behavioral Health setting Risk prevention, Risk Management skills with progressive achievement in a healthcare environment, knowledge of healthcare facility operations, functions, and staffing requirements with healthcare management certification/degree preferred.
  • Experience with benchmarking in the healthcare environment. Proficiency with statistical analysis software, Excel, Word, Power Point and Visio. Quick learner of software and Information technology, and motivated to learn new applications.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, applicable state licensure and accreditation laws and regulation; ability to formulate policy.
  • Ability to prepare and present information to Senior Management related to ongoing efforts to minimize and reduce risk events in the organization.
  • Possesses critical thinking skills and independent analysis of identified problems, effectively problem solves utilizing appropriate resources for corrective actions.
  • Effective administrative, management, and supervision skills.
