LaSalle Network has partnered with a global chemical manufacturing company, located in the New Orleans area, who is immediately seeking a Senior Cost Accountant. The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for preparing and inputting journal entries, participating in the closing and preparation of month end statements, the monthly preparation of key performance indicator reports and tracking and reporting on capital projects. This is a hybrid position with three days per week in office, with flexibility.

Senior Cost Accountant Responsibilities:

• Calculate and prepare journal entries for various costs
• Conduct cost analysis and reporting
• Enhance local financial and cost reporting procedures
• Reconcile and track finished goods shipments for accurate reporting
• Assist in the componentization and closure of assets
• Prepare and distribute AFE Status Reports by the 4th workday of each month
• Ensure timely and accurate closure of AFEs to fixed assets

Senior Cost Accountant Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent is required
• 4+ years experience in accounting within a manufacturing company
• Strong knowledge of SAP and Excel
• Excellent organizational, problem solving and strategic thinking skills
• CPA preferred
