Job Summary:

Serves as resource to staff regarding data entry, maintenance, and results. Coordinates incoming data for accuracy and integrity, assists with complex data preparation, analyzes data, and creates reports. Ensures associated administrative tasks such as documentation, editing of code books and manuals, etc. are completed.

GRS Detailed Summary:

The Sr. Operations Specialist serves as a resource to GRS and ARD staff regarding gift entry procedures and policy. This position acts as an expert on gift acceptance processing, gift adjustments, industry standards, and university policy and procedure. The position prioritizes and reports on data quality issues and adjustment requests from managers, Sr. Staff, and Financial Operations. Primary oversight is on complex areas of gifting including pledge entry and financial adjustments. The position takes the lead as the primary staff member ensuring accurate and timely entry of non-general gifts (bequests, pledges, non-binding intentions, etc), assists in tracking the timeliness of gift entry, and assists with gift entry as needed.

Specific Responsibilities :

Strategic Planning
  • Identifies and assesses customer data needs.
  • Works with GRS manager to assess the workflow needs of non-general giving and data quality control.
  • Assists in identifying organizational area's data integration and related records solutions.
  • Specifically assists in identifying GRS data integration and records solutions in the area of gift loads and electronic file indexing.
  • Collaborates on a variety of data management projects including variable definitions, storage, etc.
  • Within GRS collaborates on gift and data management projects including data quality reports, adjustments, system testing, as well as special projects as assigned.
  • Works with manager to develop standardized templates, policies and procedures for gift processing.
Administration
  • Ensures that all data is obtained and verified for subsequent analysis.
  • Ensure gift and pledge information (entry and adjustment) are verified and appropriate accounting, tax and / or University policy is followed.
  • Provides administrative support to organizational area.
  • Support Department Management
  • Assist with daily deposit, ensuring deposit is done timely and accurately.
  • Acts as primary backup for high level functions for gift entry team in GRS.
Development
  • Writes queries and reports and creates necessary analyses.
Performance
  • Performs advanced cleaning/formatting tasks of datasets.
  • Performs adjustments, maintains resource emails assigned by responding in a timely and accurate manner to requests.
  • During peak entry times, ensures accurate and timely entry of gift information into NU Donor database.
  • Provides customer service oriented, client team centered, guidance and counsel in regard to operational services
Miscellaneous

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 4 years' data entry of similar experience is required
Target hiring range for this position will be between $26.00 to $28.00 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data .
