About the Role

A Senior Data Scientist III should be able to define scope of a project and execute that project independently. Individuals in this role are expected to support the development and training of junior staff. They develop best practices and are the project leaders.

You will be responsible for:
  • Researching and developing statistical/machine learning models to analyze structured and unstructured data.


  • Exploring and mining new data sources to help optimize and validate existing models.


  • Ideating, researching, and designing new and innovative analytics and data science methodologies on large scale and complex data assets.


  • Having a thorough understanding of the team's core functions and technologies.


  • Staying current on emerging knowledge and technologies that impact the team's success and performance.


  • Working with peers to share subject matter expertise, transfer skills, and develop knowledge base.


  • Developing and utilizing innovative strategies to complete business analysis and evaluate the performance of business segments.


  • Performing all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Have Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Data Science with a strong GPA. Or Doctor's degree in Biology or Life Science with work experience in data analytics and statistical modeling.
  • Have experience in statistical modeling and preferably related to credit or insurance industry, life underwriting, or healthcare research. Hands on experience with EHR or medical billing data and medical coding system is a plus.
  • Have excellent knowledge of machine learning models, especially NLP or LLM, is a plus.


  • Have ability to build or test new processes and lead others to do so.


  • Have ability to scope and build best-practices around the usage of Data Science frameworks.


  • Have extensive verbal and written communications skills and are comfortable presenting and explaining results to business stakeholders.


  • Have expertise in standard coding language (e.g. Python, PySpark, R, and SQL.)
