The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: outstanding customer service, expertise/knowledge in the required field, dedication to the mission and strong work ethic.SAVA is in search of a dedicated IT professional to join our family as a Senior Database Administrator (ATC) on our ATEC IT Support team.ResponsibilitiesJob Responsibilities:
- Serves as a Senior Database Administrator for the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC), Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) Information Systems Directorate (S6) and will build, administer, manage, upgrade and migrate, as necessary, database environments in Oracle and MS SQL technologies.
- Perform enterprise database administration and system administration on all designated systems, including MS-SQL, My-SQL Database Management, Oracle, etc. This includes assigned enterprise network and test mission support systems.
- Manages the storage of data on storage devices and monitor usage of devices using various Government-approved software utilities.
- Uses database management tools to ensure data integrity.
- Implements measures to maintain and improve system performance.
- Supports the achievement of all pertinent Acceptable Quality Levels (e.g., issue notification timeliness).
- Supports cybersecurity in the creation and maintenance all relevant required policies, procedures, diagrams, hardware/software listings, and all other necessary artifacts required to obtain and maintain ATOs.
- Supports compliance activities for all relevant systems to include, but not limited to: Incident Response, Vulnerability Scanning/Audits, STIG compliance checking, Configuration Management, Host Based Security Solution/Endpoint Security Solution, Network Access Control, and POA&M creation.
- Handles the most complex issues. May act as a lead.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Master's degree in directly related field (e.g., Network Engineering, Network Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Forensics/Security, etc.), and 7 years of experience, or bachelor's in directly related field and 9 years of experience, or Associates and 11 years of experience, 13 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
- Computing Environment Certification: Oracle Database Administration Certified Professional or similar, Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar legacy certification -(can be achieved within 6 months of hire).
- Experience management of Oracle databases including 11g and 12c.
- Experience in Microsoft (MS) database technologies including Structured Query Language (SQL) AND Access.
- Experience in performing in-place upgrades to include SQL DB migrations from one vendor solution to another (i.e., Oracle to MS SQL).
- Oracle expertise, including installing and configuring multi-node server-side load balancing RAC (Real Application Clusters) databases on Red Hat Linux, ASM on NETAPPS storage.
- Experience with planning, design, implementation, and support of large Oracle database environments.
- Experience setting up backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, query optimization instances, and troubleshooting performance issues.
- Microsoft expertise, including physical database architecture as well as design, database backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures, installation, performance tuning, query optimization, client/server connectivity, database consistency checks using DBCC utilities, capacity planning, SQL clusters, SQL DR, HA options as well as contingency planning and log shipping.
- General DBA expertise, including:
- Designing database tables and dictionaries.
- Developing scripts, procedures, and triggers for application development.
- Developing, implementing, and optimizing stored procedures and functions using T-SQL.
- Maintaining data quality and backups and overseeing database security.
- Developing high-quality database solutions.
- Developing procedures and scripts for data migration.
- Reviewing and interpreting ongoing business report requirements.
- Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.
- Experience in PowerShell / CMD scripting
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
- Ability to adhere to government policies and requirements.
- Azure Cloud Database Administration experience is a plus
