The Senior Development Officer, Events is an integral member of the Events team within the Foundation and will be responsible for event-related activities. The Senior Development Officer, Events will report directly to the Director of Development, Annual Giving and Events.

South Shore Hospital, Southeastern Massachusetts's leading provider of emergency, acute, and outpatient care, is seeking a Senior Development Officer, Events to join our Foundation team. This position is based out of the Foundation office in Rockland, MA; a hybrid work schedule is permitted.
Reporting to the Director of Development, Special Events, this position is an integral member of the Events team within the Foundation and will be responsible for overseeing and leading event-related activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage Events Specialist who is responsible for all administrative functions for the events team.
  • Manage Team South Shore Health's Boston Marathon Program.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our team members and Bank of America's corporate responsibility team and the BAA
  • Create and implement communications and fundraising strategies
  • Execute all events as associated with programs
  • Manage vendor relationship with our running coach and physical therapist
  • Steward team members to future relationships with South Shore Health Foundation
  • Develops and manages stewardship plan for the memorial giving program and overseeing Evergreen, a tribute event.
  • Oversees all logistics including: negotiating vendor contracts, attendance lists, and production for events.
  • Oversees the collateral process with all freelance graphic designers and mail house vendors which includes all print and digital pieces and timelines to ensure proper execution. Create, proofread and edit all marketing collateral, while working with outside designers and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Oversees Luminate pages for all major events including updates and forms.
  • Assists in execution of three major Foundation events - Golf, Walk, Gala.
  • Holds a portfolio of donors which includes memorial giving/tribute donors and vendor sponsors.
  • Recruit, train, motivate and coordinate event volunteers, interns and temporary staff to advance Foundation activities.
  • Assist with other smaller events / high capacity donor dinners as needed in advance of a capital campaign.

Skills & Abilities:
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Must be able to anticipate and meet deadlines and defined goals
• Multitasking and prioritization skills
• Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, required
• Familiarity with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and Convio software preferred

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required

5+ years of professional fundraising/development experience in a healthcare, higher education, or grassroots/non-profit environment
