Responsibilities:

The Senior Director for MTSI's Air Force Special Programs Business Unit must possess a willingness and capacity to understand the totality of MTSI's business interests and capabilities and collaboratively realize opportunities for synergy across the Division and enterprise.

The Senior Director must be capable of leading a business unit dispersed across multiple locations, providing a diverse portfolio of services (e.g., cybersecurity, systems engineering, technology transition, test & evaluation, program management, electronic warfare, and special access program expertise), to multiple Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial customers.

Essential job experience and functions will include but not be limited to:
  • Possess a broad expertise across the DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) with a detailed understanding of special programs and cybersecurity organizations providing acquisition program management, systems engineering, and technology transition, including special access program (SAP) expertise, and have experience building and leading government or industry teams.
  • Responsible for providing technical direction and oversight to high-performing teams of contractor personnel, both on government sites and in remote locations.
  • Initiate, grow, maintain, and strengthen customer relationships while effectively managing a portfolio of multiple projects for continued business unit growth.
  • Provide tactical and strategic direction to all members of the business unit while communicating a vision for continued success and growth within the MTSI framework of core competencies and differentiated skill areas.
  • Uphold and instill the highest of moral and ethical standards of conduct throughout the workforce, living by and fostering MTSI's core values.
  • Have a passion for developing and nurturing the workforce, providing coaching and mentoring at all levels of the organization.
  • Identify new customer targets for business development, initiate capture efforts within the MTSI business development/program development framework, build fully resourced execution plans, and initiate/participate in proposal activities to protect current customer base and further MTSI growth.
  • Work collaboratively across all DSD business units, headquarters and infrastructure organizations, and across all 3 MTSI operational divisions, building alliances and relationships to not only grow the Air Force Special Programs Business Unit, but MTSI overall.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Oversee all contract project managers in the business unit to ensure winning profit and loss manag ement.
Qualifications:
  • 20+ years' experience across the DoD, IC and/or industry in leading, executing, and growing (1) efforts advancing Air Force cybersecurity, systems engineering, acquisition program management, technology transition, electronic warfare, and (2) highly specialized and classified efforts for major DoD and IC systems and technologies.
  • A strategic thinker with the vision and ability to lead new business development efforts to achieve division growth objectives for the business unit. Demonstrated history of revenue growth and profit target achievement.
  • Ability to lead a 100+ person organization and attain $30M-$50M in growth, with a demonstrated track record of profit and loss success.
  • A demonstrated ability to represent and articulate MTSI's core values, including a history of excellent ethical business conduct.
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player and has a track record of effective internal and external collaboration and team building.
  • An individual with a demonstrated passion for developing future MTSI leaders to include new supervisors, project managers, and program managers who can, in time, compete for MTSI senior leadership positions.
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance for existing and prospective large IDIQ contracts with projects/task orders supporting multiple customers as well as managing multiple contracts in subcontractor capacities.
  • A recognized and respected expert within the cybersecurity, systems engineering, program management support, research & development, lifecycle acquisition & sustainment, or acquisition community with a strong reputation with key business unit customers - Air Force Special Programs (SAF/AQL), Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI/PJ), Weapon System Cybersecurity, Transition Partners, Defense Department, HQ USAF, COCOM and MAJCOM R&D or engineering directorates.
  • Ability to maintain and perform technical program billable work (approximately 25%, dependent on ability to develop and win new business).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proven ability to interface internally and externally at executive levels, and ability to gain support and buy-in from all levels of leadership.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • Advanced degree (MBA or related field) is preferred.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:
  • Active Secret clearance is required
  • SAP experience, TS/SCI clearance eligibility highly desired
  • US. citizenship is required for this position.

LOCATION:

Remote or on-site position. CONUS required with a proximity to MTSI centers of gravity desired (National Capitol Region or Dayton, Ohio). Frequent travel to the National Capital Region and other business unit customer and performance locations will be expected.

TRAVEL:

The position requires moderate travel (25%-35%) to customer and office locations across the United States
