Overview

The Senior Director of Security for Acrisure Arena will help provide a safe environment by overseeing security operations at the venue. This position will be involved with the development and execution of standard operating policies and procedures while delivering a high level of customer service.

This role will pay an annual salary of $110,000 to $120,000 plus bonus.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the operational & strategic linkage between segments of the organization
  • Develops, implements & evaluates department goals & action plans to support Acrisure Arena's mission, philosophy & strategic plan
  • Completes responsibilities in a timely manner through effective organization, setting priorities, delegation, and utilizing time management skills
  • Applies the technical knowledge, skills and experience to ensure successful performance. Compiles & submits records & reports as required that reflect departmental activities
  • Prepares, submits, and monitors progress of an annual list of departmental objectives.
  • Submits proposals to expand/or improve services with detailed analysis and justification included.
  • Complies with all applicable laws, statutes, or standards from regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Aids in the development and coordination of company-wide security programs and provides documentation in the form of operation manuals.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains compliance with OVG and Acrisure Arena policies and procedures, regulatory and legal requirements
  • Develops and implements quality improvement activities to maintain the ongoing quality of security for patrons, visitors and employees.
  • Maintains good working relations with all outside agencies including local/state/federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Understands, interprets, and enforces any new and/or updated local, state, and federal security regulations applicable to Acrisure Arena.
  • Adheres to and applies all aspects of security regulations throughout Acrisure Arena in a consistent manner.
  • Manages performance by assessing staff competency and providing constructive feedback on initial hire, on an ongoing basis and in accordance with Acrisure Arena Performance Management Program.
  • Inform Security personnel about role in providing security services; review and update emergency preparedness procedures and develop job function qualifications for staff.
  • Instruct Security personnel to provide direction and assistance to patrons, visitors, and employees in a courteous and positive manner.
  • Demonstrate the ability to direct the departmental goals and activities in conjunction with sound security and management concepts. Expresses ideas in a clear, creative, and succinct manner.
  • Determines needs, allocates resources, and resolves problems related to staffing, space, equipment, and supplies.
  • Plans, develops, monitors, and assumes accountability for operating within the annual departmental and capital equipment budget.
  • Monitors, reviews, justifies, and implements strategies to improve financial performance for assigned departments including expenses, revenues, and productivity.
  • Provide feedback to the department head on the annual budget and detailed justification.
  • Inform all personnel of changes & additions to regulatory standards by communicating to departments.
  • Initiates and facilitates changes to improve security services through effective communication, collaboration, and interdisciplinary problem-solving. Serves as a role model & mentor to staff by consistently demonstrating professionalism.
  • Assumes responsibility for professional development and integration of acquired knowledge and skills into practice.
  • Assists employees with the development of professional and technical skills. Maintains competency of all security personnel including internal and third-party subcontractors.
  • Maintains and fosters good employee morale. Promotes harmony within the departments and company.
  • Provides direction and guidance to supervisory staff in maintaining security services and protection; offers assistance with special problems.
  • Represents the Security Department at all requested or required functions.
  • Ensure all building security systems are operating as necessary during event and non-event periods. Security systems include but are not limited to; cameras and access control, physical security equipment (Screening Gateways, hand-wands, etc.,).
  • Serve as escalation point to client and employee security inquiries, concerns, and/or complaints during an event.
  • Work with the Events department on creating event estimates as it relates to security, police, fire, and medical needs.
  • Develops, implements & evaluates department goals & action plans to support Acrisure Arena's mission, philosophy & strategic plan
  • Maintain the venue's reputation for excellent entertainment experience by balancing enforcement of rules and regulations with guest safety and enjoyment.
  • Develop comprehensive dot maps serving various functionalities including but not limited to staff placement, accessibility, and/or access control.
  • Coordinate directly with emergency services personnel and oversee Medical and First Aid facilities.
  • Oversee and manage contracted security personnel associated with various events.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the operational & strategic linkage between segments of the organization
  • Oversee and manage contracted parking personnel associated with various events.
  • Manage and approve any parking lists, passes, and parking portal for venue.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as relevant and necessary.
  • Make immediate decisions and communicate with management, first responders, venue guests, employers, and performers in the facility in an emergency situation.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressive security experience, including managerial experience.
  • Security experience working in stadium, arena, similar venue environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate success in managing multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to lead, give clear, concise direction and provide constructive feedback; can demonstrate confidence and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to interact effectively in a professional, diplomatic, and mature manner with internal and external clients and peers at all levels within an organization and throughout the community.
  • Extensive experience managing teams; demonstrated ability in coaching, counseling, directing, and developing teams or large groups.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule: able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Position requires prolonged standing, prolonged walking, and able to work in the elements of the weather at times.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Professional certifications: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Sports Security Professional (CSSP) preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid California State Drivers' License

Working Conditions
  • Minimal Travel (< 10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required.
  • Frequent bending, lifting 75 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building.
